<para>Install <application>popt</application> by running the following
commands:</para>

<para>If you have <xref linkend="doxygen"/> installed and wish to build
the API documentation, issue <command>doxygen</command>.</para>
<para>To test the results, issue:<command>make check</command>.</para>
