Kernel Building
---------------
While in the `chroot` environment, run the script `01-linux-firmware.sh` to
install the binary firmware blobs that are needed for some hardware to function.
These firmware blobs are from:
https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/firmware/linux-firmware.git/
and the 20240909 snapshot was retrieved by the `CH03-get-sources.sh` script.
Once the firmware is installed, run the script `02-linux-kernel.sh` to build and
install the Linux kernel in the chroot.
Except when building the kernel for the USB flash drive, the script will try to
mount `/boot` within the `chroot` and will fail if it can not.
When building the kernel for the USB flash drive, the script will create a
`/boot/grub/grub.cfg` file but it does not try to create one when it is not
building the kernel for the USB flash drive.
The kernel configuration used is in the file `lfs-kernel-config` and is quite
likely very wrong for most systems other than my build host, you will need to
replace that file with one more suitable for YOUR hardware.
### grub-install
These scripts do NOT run `grub-install`. It is quite dangerous to run that from
a shell script.
